Online learning firm Coursera and ConsenSys, an Ethereum blockchain services provider, are jointly offering a certificate course that introduces blockchain to anyone curious about the technology and its uses across a multitude of sectors.

All in hand: blockchain for beginners course

The course offered by Coursera and ConsenSys is just another in the latest round of educational offerings as higher education cottons on to the blockchain buzz and to its popularity as a career trajectory across both fintech, supply chain, health and a rising number of other sectors where the technology can be applied.

Students can expect course content to include: examining businesses use cases, hearing from industry leaders, and getting the opportunity to develop and analyse a use case.

The course description states: “With this course, not only will you be the one who is able to explain blockchain to your colleagues, you’ll be well on your way to making educated business decisions with your new, foundational understanding of the technology.”

Reaping benefits

The Blockchain: Foundations And Use Cases course aims to unlock any assumed mysteries about blockchain for the uninitiated and promises to reveal how the technology will impact everyday life and its benefits.

ConsenSys is a production studio known for its work with Ethereum building decentralised applications and tools.  The course will provide an introduction to blockchain technology and learners will acquire knowledge and skills to help them understand blockchain’s impact on the world as well as identifying problems that blockchain can tackle in their own area of expertise.

Naturally, in a course for beginners there are no prerequisites and you can reap the benefits any place and anytime.
