Beauty app and Kik team up for token reward glow
Augmented reality beauty app, Perfect365, has teamed up with messaging app, Kik, to dole out Kin token as rewards to its more than 100 million users, worldwide the majority of whom are female according to Hard Fork.
The beauty app is popular among millenials and Generation Z who can enjoy an interactive experience with makeup brands, designers, influencers and makeup artists. The app uses face detection and AR to analyse skin and/or superimpose makeup on a user’s face before they buy products IRL.
The collaboration described as the first AR beauty platform to introduce Kin’s cryptocurrency by beauty app CEO Sean Mao is bringing the future to its users who are use the app for inspiration and creativity for their own looks.
The token reward scheme will be run on Kin blockchain but users will have to work hard to earn the cryptocurrency by completing a number of surveys. There are limits to the number of tokens users can earn daily plus the amount of purchasing power is highly doubtful as Hard Fork points out writing:
“Kin told Hard Fork that Perfect365 users will be eligible to complete “up to four surveys daily,” each offering rewards between 20 and 30 KIN. At the current rate, this amounts to less than a cent worth of cryptocurrency.”
Perfect 365 is the top digital beauty platform reaching over 100 million users but whether or not its young users deem the new token reward scheme perfect remains to be seen.
