Bitcoin payments can be made directly through Microsoft Excel
According to independent Bitcoin advisor to institutional investors, Pierre Rochard, he has developed a plugin for Microsoft Excel that could help users in making payments in Bitcoin directly. The plugin will use the Lightning Network (LN). Rochard called his new development Neutrino.
“The LND node software now runs from *within* the Excel plugin. With Neutrino, that means that a Windows + Excel user can be making and receiving LN payments with a few clicks,” announced Rochard on Twitter.

Excel users will not have to operate a full-node to use this functionality. Instead, the plugin will work with the Lightning Network Daemon (LND), which was released in beta version 0.5.
However, the initial feedback of those who had a chance to test it is not flawless. According to Shitcoin.com CEO Andreas Brekken, the system currently has many glitches and is not ‘for everyone’ – instead, it is rather intended for ‘highly technical users.’ Brekken also went further and questioned the overall safety of the software, stating that it has a ‘very high rate of transaction failure.’
According to Pierre Rochard, the Neutrino plugin is still in early stages of development, and its public release is expected within the upcoming month.
