In a recent televised broadcast, President Donald Trump threatened a government shutdown if funding is not approved for his beloved border wall. Although not much progress has been made between parties, Ohio Republican Congressman Warren Davidson believes a solution can be found in cryptocurrency.

In an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep, Davidson briefly described his bill, the “Buy a Brick, Build a Wall Act”, which creates a way for “citizens to pitch in and help efforts to secure the border.” Davidson explained the act as a sort of donation program and stated,

“If we get it right at the Treasury, you could even accept Mexican pesos.”

Davidson didn’t explain much on how the system would function. However, many consider his crypto-related statements fairly reliable, due to his involvement with cryptocurrencies and his many pro-crypto initiatives. Although it is an interesting idea, would anyone actually be willing to donate to such a costly endeavor?
