The Samsung Galaxy S10 will support over four cryptocurrencies
Samsung has introduced several exciting, new cryptocurrency-friendly features for its recent Galaxy S10 series smartphones. Primarily, the update features a wallet for four different digital currencies including well-known Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as COSMEE and Enjin, according to the official statement made by Samsung at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on February 25th.
The tech giant’s long-anticipated smartphone will also be supporting a new app called COSMEE. The beauty review app uses COSM tokens which can be earned and spent by its users. Additionally, the S10 also reportedly includes a wallet for Enjin’s digital currency. The new wallet can be used to exchange internal game tokens.
Notably, the reality of the Samsung’s new crypto-related updates was in question up until earlier this month. In December 2018, the suggestion was dismissed by Samsung as “rumor and speculation.” However, the following month, new photographs again surfaced, revealing a crypto wallet would likely be featured. In the official announcement made by Samsung on February 21, crypto-related products of the new smartphone have been officially confirmed.
While Samsung is leading the charge for cryptocurrency support for the smartphone, several other companies are also stepping in. For instance, just this week HTC has also announced plans to support the digital currency market on its first blockchain-based phone, Exodus. Will other smartphone manufacturers follow this path?
