Number of crypto ATMs keeps growing worldwide
The leading country that has the most of crypto ATMs is the United States, followed by Austria and Canada. Only for 2018 alone, 2,243 new ATMs have been installed in the U.S., with 17 and 16 new ATMs installed in Austria and Canada, respectively.
Notably, the three countries – Peru, Albania and South Korea – have had their first crypto ATM installations in November. Peru and Albania have received theirs from General Bytes, a major Bitcoin ATM maker based in Prague, while South Korea received a teller from local manufacturer Dobi ATM. According to Coin ATM Radar, in November different ATM manufacturers opened 209 tellers around the world, with closing down 68 of the ones installed prior.
While the number of crypto ATMs grows, so does the number of altcoins accepted. In November alone, the volume of altcoins accepted in ATMs has increased by 59 percent. However, Bitcoin (BTC) still remains the most popular cryptocurrency, with 4,042 machines all over the world in total.
