In yet another move towards the mainstream cryptocurrency adoption, Opera browser has announced the launch of a built-in cryptocurrency wallet, allowing to purchase cryptocurrency directly from a web browser. The upgrade was made possible due to Opera’s cooperation with a cryptocurrency exchange Safello.

According to Charles Hamel, cryptocurrency product lead at Opera, the decision to partner up with a crypto exchange and provide Opera users with a convenience of a crypto purchase right from their web browser came from their strong belief that cryptocurrency is here to stay.

“For it to reach wider adoption, it has to be easy to buy and easy to use,”

said Charles Hamel.

Effective today, Opera users on both PC and Android will have an opportunity to access the built-in cryptocurrency wallet and have a chance to transact crypto from the convenience of a web browser. Additionally, Opera is also releasing same browser versions for Apple, Mac and Linux. Will other web browsers follow?
